About Us

Back in August 2000, a little website that could appeared on the net, www.uncannyxmen.net. One of the main purposes behind the launch of the site was to give something back to the Comic Community which we had grown up with.

As time moved on and the site started to grow we realised that although free hosting was great, we needed to move to more reliable hosting that would also provide us with the space and bandwidth we needed.

We dipped into our pockets and moved to a paid for solution, and figured we'd use 1 single advertising pane on the site to hopefully cover the costs. Skip forward several years and the site had become popular enough for us to move to a better solution.

Now with moving to our own servers, not only did this give us the ability to control our own environment and add additional functionality to the site, it also meant we could start to give back even more. First we let parts of UXN grow into their own sites, so that they weren't limited to coverage of just X-Men related characters. Then we gave back to those that had contributed, allowing them to host their own sites as well.

We realised that over those years, this had gone from being a hobby into something more, in fact it started to take a life on its own. So we decided that it was time for it to become into a full fledged organisation that could breathe on its own, and thus formed Merging Minds Ltd.

The name Merging Minds comes from one of the sections of uncannyxmen.net although the name predates that slighty, thanks to Joerg Schneider, who really has a lot to blame for how we ended up here ;]
